PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR: Managed projects and developed design build scenarios and conceptual estimates for potential clients throughout the East Coast and the Bahamas.

Project types: Marine storage, self-performed concrete work, site development, masonry

Hiring / supervision: 15-35 employees, 120 construction workers, 9 subcontractors
Notable Projects:
Took over Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club and Marina project ($14 million, 110,000 sq. ft.) during conceptual stage of development. Finalized the design process, prepared budget, wrote scope of work, and brought project to a successful close exceeding client expectations. Marina was featured in Marina Dock Age magazine and the Naples Daily News.
Developed design drawings and conceptual cost estimate for first-of-a-kind tilt wall dry stack boat storage building that met a 150-mph wind load. Met stringent FEMA and fire department regulations while giving client an extra 275,000 cubic feet of rentable space worth an additional $11 million.
Put together 15 tilt wall dry stack marine storage projects ranging from $8 million to $250 million. Played a leading role in upgrading estimating software (Quest Estimation).
BBL FLORIDA, LLC – Estero, FL 2004 to 2007

PROJECT MANAGER / PRECONSTRUCTION: Managed complete construction projects and assisted in estimating and preconstruction.
Project types: High-end mid-rise and high-rise multifamily, condos, hotels, office buildings, high-end commercial projects
Budgets: $6 million to $200 million
Hiring / supervision: Project field assistant (PFA), superintendent, 2 assistant superintendents, 150 construction workers, 18 subcontractor firms
Notable Projects:
Successfully completed a $25 million retail facility (International Design Center, 250,000 sq. ft, 3-story). Worked closely with designer to develop a smoke evac system that eliminated the need for emergency fire stair construction throughout the building allowing more efficient use of available space for leasing. Completed on time and on budget with a short punch list.
Provided preconstruction, estimating, and subcontractor selection and buyout for a $200 million high-rise multi-family project for WCI Developers. Met client’s expectations in both quality and budget.
Took over, restarted, and successfully completed a stalled $25,000,000.00 project. Developed action plan, renegotiated with subcontractors, and updated project schedule.

D.L. PORTER CONSTRUCTION – Sarasota and Key West, FL 2000 to 2004
